How to complete your Math Assignments in no Time

If you hate your math classes, or just have too little free time, having homework assigned undoubtedly ruins your day. But your assigned math coursework doesn’t have to take you all evening, or burn up your entire weekend. In fact, you can be done with your math homework in very little time at all if you make use of some of the following hints and tips.

Keep a formula cheat sheet

You can either make it yourself, or look up one online to print out. A formula cheat sheet is simply a quick reference page for formulas. Each time you learn a new formula in class, you add it to the sheet. If you keep it going for some time, you can even end up with an entire notebook full. A lot of the time you spend working on math homework can be cut out if you don’t have to constantly page through your textbook to find formulas.

Have all reference materials on hand

There will likely be other information you need on hand in addition to your formula reference sheet or notebook. Before you sit down to do your homework, make sure you have all of the necessary materials nearby. This accomplishes two things. First, you save time by not having to look for something, and second, it avoids the temptation to get distracted in the process of looking for something. That leads into our next tip.

Minimize distractions

When you get ready to do your math homework, find a quiet area that’s free of distractions. For example, don’t do your homework in an area with a television that’s on, or somewhere where people are likely to come up and talk to you. If you’re working in your room or dorm, put up a do-not-disturb sign. If you’re in the library, choose a quiet cubicle or back corner to do your work. For some, music helps them concentrate, but for others it can make them lose their train of thought, so you’ll have to make a personal decision there.

Take timed breaks

If you have so much assigned homework that you’ll have to work for over an hour, schedule breaks for yourself, but time them. It’s easy to get distracted and lose track of time when you’re doing something fun on your break, but it will only prolong the time until your homework is done.
